Childhood obesity is threatening to reach epidemic levels in Suffolk.The school summer holidays evoke memories of endless days playing sports and climbing trees, returning home exhausted each evening.

But times have changed and it is having a serious impact on our children’s health.

Research released in the spring shows that since 1980 obesity rates among Britain’s teenagers have jumped from just 5% to a staggering 16%. In younger children the rate has doubled.
